Personal History
Early life: Born in Carson City, Nevada in 1984, lived on the families property on the edge of Lake Tahoe in the Sierra Nevada mountains for his entire childhood. His mother walked out just before his third birthday, leaving his father to take sole responsibility to raising him. His father made Kenith the focus of his life, often working double and triple shifts at the local sawmill to ensure his son did not go without. The two made great sacrifices, but Kenith always knew how much his father cared for him.
As a young boy, Kenith joined the Boy Scouts, and discovered his love for the outdoors. The organization not only gave him something to do while his father was working long hours, but also taught him outdoors survival and navigation, skills Kenith would find useful later in life. He rose to become a very resourceful young man, and eventually attained the rank of Eagle Scout, much to his father's delight.
Education: Kenith attended Mark Twain Elementary School, Eagle Valley Middle School and finally Carson High School. During his academic years, he developed a love and passion for the sciences, especially physics. He competed in a number of local and state-based competitions, proudly representing his state and school. Upon graduation, he decided to pursue his studies in physics, but knew he and his father couldn't afford to send him to university. As such, he applied for the United States Air Force Academy, and secured a spot through selection by his local Senator.
Military Record: In the summer before joining the USAFA, Kenith attended and completed Basic Cadet Training, before being inducted in the Academy. During his first year, he furthered his science and physics knowledge, and continued to learn of the military while acquiring combat skills. At the end of his first year, he was approached by representatives of a special division of the Academy known as the SGA. He was briefed on the Stargate program, and transferred into the Stargate Academy as a Cadet Airman.
Kenith's first year at the SGA was eventful to say the least. His first off-world experience was a SERE exercise - survival, evasion, resistance, escape - in which all cadets were forced to avoid capture by Academy staff for as long as possible, and hold out while they were tortured. He would go on through the year to face off against a Prior of the Ori, train aboard a US aircraft carrier, survive an alien infection, communicate with a long dead civilization, attend the promotion of Delta Site member Karl Biggio to Chief Master Sergeant of the Air Force, uncover French deceit at the World Military Academy Games in Paris, and carry out survival training on the frozen site of a tidally locked planet.
During the year he formed close bonds with his fellow cadets, and even started a relationship with Jocasta Darcy, though things stopped during their Paris trip. On the same trip he developed feeling for Azalea Andre due to being under the influence of alien pheromones, though the two have yet to decide if the feelings are real or simply a result of the chemical.
After completing his final year Kenith returned home to Lake Tahoe. He kept in contact with his fellow cadets yet couldn't afford to visit them. His military inabilities during the year prompted him to apply for the highly challenging Ranger School over the break, from which he has only just returned.
Family:
Douglas Simmons - Sawmill Supervisor
Celia Simmons - Unknown
Personality: Kenith is a quiet achiever to say the least. He tends to keep to himself, though has slowly began to welcome the friendships and even relationships of his fellow cadets. Being quite new to the military he is often unsure of his actions and double thinks himself, a self acknowledged trait he hopes to overcomes. His military inability is countered by his love of physics, and he aims to bring scientific reason and explanation to all he sees.

Water boarding was a son of a bitch.
In preparation for the SERE exercise, Kenith had tried to find what he could online about what he could expect to come up against. Although heavily classified for national security reasons, one word kept coming up - water boarding, a brutal form of interrogation which had a history almost as long and dark as the history of torture itself.
While this research had mentally prepared him, it had also driven fear into his heart, a fear that lingered in the back of his mind since the exercise had commenced. Some said it was 'better the devil you knew', but in this case, Kenith thought the opposite was true. Knowing exactly what forms of torture and information extraction awaited you did nothing but scare him more than if he'd been naive as to what he should expect. When he was dragged into the room and saw the necessary equipment in front of him, his heart almost stopped beating.
In retrospect, Kenith would learn it had been his research of this form of interrogation that had led to him being subjected to it. Before they'd departed, the OPFOR staff had investigated their cadet victims, just as a true captor would. By accessing his internet logs they'd discovered his knowledge of this form, and the fact that he knew of it's horrors.
When subjected to water boarding, CIA field officers lasted an average of 14 seconds before breaking. The longest record was two and a half minutes, set by hardline Middle Eastern terrorists. Kenith, however, was neither a veteran field agent or a hardened career soldier. He was a sawmill supervisor's from Nevada. His knew he would cave. His captors confirmed his fears with his violent reaction to seeing the device. Both he and they knew he could be easily broken, probably before the exercise even began.
Seated in a chair, he was tightly bound, and without warning the chair was kicked over, with Kenith laying on his back. One OPFOR officer took a damp cloth, and held it over his face, covering his eyes and month. Kicking and swinging violently, Kenith tried to break the ropes that bound him, trying to escape what he was about to happen. His efforts where in vain, and after a moment of failing, the second captor began to slowly pour the water over the cloth.
The sensation was a strange one. The water being poured through the cloth and into his mouth induced the gagging reflect immediately, and Kenith fought hard to control it and break free of his restraints. He screamed in agony; it felt as if he was slowly drowned. His heat beat rose rapidly to dangerous levels, and he tried as best he could to keep water from entering his lungs, all the while trying to fight the drowning reflex.
After what seemed like a lifetime, but was in fact only six seconds, the water stopped, and he was allowed momentarily to recover. This technique was entirely physiological; while the risk of drowning was real, it was more likely he would break from pure and uncontrollable fear before enough water entered his lungs to kill him. At the back of his mind he kept reminding himself this was just an exercise, and that his captors wouldn't let him die, but he could only reassure himself so much until the water began to flow again...

Holding Cell
At some point during the water boarding, Kenith had blacked out. Although all he could remember was the running water and the pure fear he was about to die, he didn't think he'd been broken. If he'd given himself or the others up, he imagined the guilt would be readily felt. Instead, he laid in one of the corners of the cell, trying to get his mind off the traumatic experience and back to what was happening here and now. He'd no doubt be back in that room, undergoing the same interrogation, and needed to be back on his game.
All of a sudden, the door to the cell swung open, the OPFOR members stormed in. "Enough of this," said the leader of the group, "Time to prove our resolve." With that, he drew his weapon with lightning quick speed, dragged Tim into the hallway and fired. The cadet dropped, red blood slowly seeped into the cell. "Maybe next time, someone will talk."
The limp body of the cadet could be heard being dragged down the hallway, and from his corner of the cell, Kenith watched the blood trail slowly edge it's way into the center of the cell. Things just got a little too real for my likings...
